On Friday 1 May 2026, our community gathered once again for the annual HAS Foundation SkyCity Mother’s Day Luncheon. It was, a special afternoon celebrating motherhood, honouring resilience and coming together to make a meaningful difference for families facing the unimaginable.
Proudly presented in partnership with SkyCity Adelaide, more than 350 guests filled the room with warmth, kindness and a shared commitment to supporting children living with life-limiting conditions and the families who walk beside them.
The luncheon was a beautiful reflection of what can be achieved when a community comes together with purpose. Through the generosity of our guests, sponsors, donors and supporters, we raised an incredible $145,640, helping HAS Foundation continue to provide practical support, meaningful experiences and opportunities for families to live for the moment and create memories for a lifetime.
This year's result brings the total raised through our Mother's Day events since 2019 to more than $525,000.
Guests enjoyed a beautifully curated three-course lunch prepared by the talented SkyCity Adelaide culinary team, alongside a heart warming performance by the Tutti Arts Choir. Throughout the afternoon, there was a wonderful sense of togetherness as guests connected with one another, shared stories and generously supported our live and silent auctions.
One of the most memorable moments of the day was our guest panel discussion, hosted by Elspeth Hussey. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Bel Sloane, Kelly Golding, Madhavi Narwana Parker and Stephanie McConnachy for sharing their stories with such courage, honesty and grace.
Their conversation highlighted the importance of human connection during life's most difficult seasons and the profound impact of feeling seen, supported and understood. It was a powerful reminder that even in grief and adversity, there is strength in community and hope in knowing we do not walk alone.
We were also honoured to announce a $50,000 donation from HAS Foundation to the Women's & Children's Hospital Foundation in support of Laklinyeri Beach House.
This latest contribution brings HAS Foundation's total support of the much-loved coastal retreat to $200,000.
For families caring for a child with a life-limiting condition, the Laklinyeri Beach House offers far more than a getaway. It provides a place to pause, reconnect and spend precious time together away from the demands of hospital appointments and daily challenges. It is a place where laughter can be shared, memories can be created, and families can simply be together.
Our donation will also contribute to the enhancements of the beach house sensory space, helping create an even more welcoming environment where children and families can experience comfort, joy and moments that will be treasured for years to come.
